Ice Ornaments
These ice panels dazzle in the winter landscape hung from the branches of a tree. Make them when the weather is below freezing and hang where you can enjoy them from indoors too.
What you will need:
Any of the following:
pie plates, plastic bowls, loaf pans, silverware drawer organizer, cake pans, muffin tins, etc
twine
leaves, flowers, berries, evergreen snippets, holly, whole cloves, tiny pine cones, potpourri etc.
For a spectacular display, choose several different shapes of containers. Fill each one with several inches of water. Next, to hang the ornament lay about 8-10” of the twine in a loop in the water near the top (you can always make a hole for the twine when the ornament is frozen with a hot nail or a drill). Lay the greenery and snippets into the water in a pleasing pattern, and freeze either outdoors on a cold night or in the freezer. To remove the ornaments after they are frozen, briefly dip the container into warm water. Hang from the branch of a tree or near a window so you can see them from indoors as well.
